Electric Guitar & Bass Lessons

Many guitar and bass students learn through memorization. They collect chord and scale forms like they would baseball cards. This memorization helps the motor skills needed to play the instrument but it does not enable the player to understand how music works. The student believes that if  they can collect enough cards, the ability to play will suddenly materialize.

An understanding of how music is structured allows the student to learn through deduction. The student uses what he or she already knows to solve any particular musical problem they are confronted with. Armed with these reference points they can improve their playing and understand  how and why their baseball cards interact and become music.
